- Stegelman works for Aetna. For money he reviews medical records of patients whom Aetna wishes to withhold coverage from, mainly because the payment is eating into their profits. Stegelman, like every doctor who does this work, has a quota of cases for which he must withhold care; if he doesn't he'll not be paid. My 28 year old daughter on December 24th 2020 was hospitalized and placed on a ventilator. As of today, April 1st 2020, she is still on a ventilator. There was a plan in pace to begin weaning her off the ventilator in April 2021, but on March 6th 2021 Stegelman signed an Aetna document stating that Aetna would no longer provide coverage. Stegelman signed in writing that her "care is medically unnecessary". Further he stated "Little or no improvement is expected". So she is coming home on a ventilator. without medical care She will never be weaned. The rest of her life she will be on a vent If she dies at home, the blood is on his hands. He's a disgrace to medicine.
