Dr. Michael Moffitt received his DDS from Baylor University and his Certificate of Specialization in Prosthetic Dentistry from the University of Missouri at Kansas City, where he was also an instructor, and practiced in Shawnee, Kansas. Dr. Moffitt served in the Navy Dental Corps at Camp Pendleton, California; Oakland Naval Hospital, California; Newport Naval Base, Rhode Island; and a short trip aboard the USS Coral Sea, before establishing his practice in Eagle Grove, Iowa. Dr. Moffitt is a member of the Fort Dodge, Iowa district of the Iowa Dental Association, and is a past-president. He also is a past-president of the Fort Dodge Study Club, and past chair of the district and Iowa Dental Association Peer Review. He served two terms as a Trustee for the IDA. He was a long-time Chair of the IDA Third-Party Council. He currently represents his district as the Chairman of the IDA Legislative Council. Dr. Moffitt is a life member of the ADA. He has been an avid supporter of legislative issues and IDPAC/ADPAC. He has attended ADA legislative conferences in Washington, DC representing the IDA, and has traveled as an Iowa delegate to ADA annual meetings. Dr Moffitt is a legislative key contact and supports the Iowa Dental Foundation. He volunteers as lead of the prosthetic section of the Iowa Mission of Mercy and participates in Donated Dental Services. Dr. Moffitt is a member of the American College of Prosthodontists, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the Academy of Osseointegration, and the Seattle Study Club. He uses his training and experience as the founder of Prosthodontic Mentoring, helping younger dentists improve their skills and confidence by walking them through complex prosthetic cases in their own practices.
